The U8655-1 handset software should be updated with the MICRO SD card.

- Upgrade preparation
- Check current upgrade environment
Make sure that the MICRO SD card is available and can be read and write.
- Get and check the software package
1. According to the chapter 1.4, check the software package date and the file size.
2. Copy the dload folder to SD card, the directory is /sdcard/dload/update.app
- Upgrade introduction
There are two methods to upgrade: normal upgrade and force upgrade.
Normal upgrade needs to start the handset and enter the Setting module. Force upgrade is often used when the handset can’t boot up or can’t enter the idle screen. If need force upgrade, please pull out the battery and set again.
- Upgrade operations

- A MICRO SD card of 512MB or more should be available. The MICRO SD card made by Sandisk, Kingstone, or Kingmax is recommended.
- Format the MICRO SD card (This operation is optional).
- Copy the Main package of chapter 1.4 to dload of SD card.
- Make sure your handset is power off. Insert the MICRO SD card into the handset. Pressing the VOLUME UP key and VOLUME DOWN key, and then press the POWER key to power on the phone and enter the Software Upgrade Mode.
- When the progress bar stop, the phone will restart, if not you need to remove the battery manually.
- Normal upgrade
- A MICRO SD card of 512MB or more should be available. The MICRO SD card made by Sandisk, Kingstone, or Kingmax is recommended.
- Format the MICRO SD card (This operation is optional).
- Unzip the package U8655-1V100R001C185B889.zip (right click your mouse and select ‘Extract here’).
- Obtain the unzipped file (subdirectory: \dload\*.*) to be upgraded,Copy the entire dload folder (with UPDATE.APP in it) to the root directory of the MICRO SD card.
- Insert the MICRO SD card into the handset and power on. After entering the home screen, press menu key to choose Settings->Storage->Software Upgrade->SD card Upgrade->Confirm->Upgrade to start the upgrade. Reference to the following pictures.
- When the progress bar stop, the phone will restart, if not you need to remove the battery manually.
